Acting Governor Teguh Supports Quality Food ProvisionsOn that occasion, Teguh was grateful and supported the MBG program throughout Indonesia, especially in Jakarta.
"On the first day of this program, four Nutrition Service Fulfillment units (SPPG) had operated to serve 41 schools with 12,054 students throughout Jakarta," he explained.
He went on to say that 655 MBG packages were provided for students in grades VII to IX at SMPN 61 Jakarta. Then a total of 11 schools in Slipi Sub-district with 2,987 students from kindergarten to high school in Palmerah Sub-district received MBG packages.
"By the end of this month, around 17 out of 153 SPPGs will be operating until the end of the year," he continued.
He added the SPPG which operates not far from the school location with a maximum distance of five kilometers aims to facilitate distribution and maintain the quality of the MBG packages supplied.
"Every day, the free nutritious meal menu that students eat will change. The city administration supports aspects of socialization, education, designation of school locations, and food security," he explained.
Palmerah SPPG Head, Yuda Permana added he had received data from 11 schools regarding students who had food allergies or did not eat rice to be replaced with potatoes.
"It is ensured that the nutritional intake of MBG that has been distributed is appropriate for elementary to high school students," he explained.
Class IX student at SMPN 61 Jakarta, Geisha A Wulandari admitted that the MBG menu provided was teriyaki chicken, fried tofu, rice, stir-fried long beans, and oranges.
"The portion is enough anyway. Alhamdulillah (thank God), I don't have any food allergies so I don't need to buy snacks anymore because they are provided," she explained.
The similar statement also came from Class IX student at SMPN 61 Jakarta, Randy A Kamaludin.
"I rarely bring food supplies so I usually buy it at the school stall. Of course, this makes me save a lot," he admitted.
